Veteran Stylist and Salon Owner Jennifer Cody has touched the lives of multiple generations through exceptional service and elevated haircare. Her enduring legacy as a stylist is that her clients know she is always there for them. Jennifer has taken her love for supporting others and created a salon environment that encourages the success of other stylists and delivers relaxation for everyone that steps through the doors.

After graduating from Capri Beauty College in 1986, Jennifer fine-tuned her skills in other salons before opening Shear Express in 1990. She set the tone from the beginning that the team would prioritize continuous learning opportunities, so that each stylist could grow their artistry and better serve their clients. It is Jennifer’s belief that no matter if a stylist is new or experienced, they can always benefit from additional training. She loves to learn new techniques because no matter the age of the client, everyone deserves great hair and to feel beautiful. 

Her life in and outside the salon is full! Knowing that her work as a stylist and owner isn’t for the faint of heart, Jennifer stays strong through yoga and cooking healthy meals. She loves her family and spending time with her daughter, son, and grandson, especially when it involves sporting events and watching her son play baseball. Jennifer grew up in Olympia Field, and her time on farms with family lends itself to her love for animals, good friends, and good food.

Kaitlyn wears many hats – stylist, part-time life coach, and therapist. A Cameo Beauty Academy graduate, Kaitlyn has been utilizing her passion for people to connect with and deliver beautiful hair.

“Getting to know my clients, and making them feel beautiful and confident, is my passion. Nothing is more fulfilling than an excited client that feels beautiful inside and out.”

Great conversation is a given for Kaitlyn’s clients, and her genuine curiosity to learn something new inspires her exceptional service. Lifting people up by being “recklessly kind” is at the forefront of her work and provides her clients with one-on-one attention that delivers personalized hair care. 

When not at Shear Express, Kaitlyn loves to do yoga, go to concerts, travel, and spend time with friends.

Jeanette is a Stylist & Manager for Shear Express. After attending beauty school at South Suburban School of Hair Technology, Jeanette went on to embark in an amazing career in the beauty industry. She’s been a licensed cosmetologist for over 30 years, and 25 of which she’s been managing and styling at Shear Express.

Being a hairstylist lets Jeanette use her creative side and talk to people all day long. She can’t imagine a more perfect career to be a part of. Jeanette loves coloring, cutting and styling, and special occasion updo styles. Education fuels Jeannette’s inner spirit. She believe that you should never stop learning in this industry, that’s why she’s always attending classes learning about the latest trends and techniques in cutting, color, styling, as well as business.

Growing up in Thornton (population 2800), Jeanette feels that her small town upbringing is a contributor to her being such a down-to-earth girl. She does not sugar coat things. Jeanette says “I will tell you if that purple streak you want to put in your hair is the right choice or not!” Jeanette is passionate about excellence, which is very important to her – but at the end of the day, having a great laugh with her friends and family is always the best. Whether she’s singing in the choir, attending music concerts, working on craft projects, camping or just taking a relaxing walk with her dog, Tillie, she can always be found enjoying life.

She says, “I use to think being born with natural curly hair was a curse! I spent most of my teen years and 20’s trying everything that was available to me at the time to make my hair normal, straighter or at least what I perceived to be normal. It was this obsession with my own hair’s trial and tribulations that led me to the hair industry!“

Jeanette is truly grateful to do what she loves and feels blessed to have worked with so many wonderful people. She loves her guests and cherishes the relationship she has with them.

As a Tinley Park native, Andrea loves to support those in her community by providing gorgeous hair. She has a long-term love for the beauty industry and started working at Shear Express at 15 years old! Originally a receptionist and shampoo assistant, Andrea then transitioned her role to stylist after she graduated from Trend Setters in 2003.

Andrea’s main priority is ensuring that her clients feel heard and comfortable, and her ability to make people smile is just one of the many reasons she is an important part of our team. Feeling fantastic and enjoying the best possible results is easy once you sit in Andrea’s chair.

Outside of the salon, Andrea has a wide variety of interests including trying out new recipes, home improvement projects, gardening, and hanging out with her puppy Winnie – her happy place and constant joy. She also loves spending time with family and enjoying an evening at home with her dog and boyfriend.
